Week 4-Process Journal

Week 4

Now, the pressure was basically on. The investigation deadline was coming up and we had to work like crazy, long days and nights polishing up the investigation and writing this process journal. Well, I think this was probably the best week until now because I was able to accomplish a great deal of work looking at different emerging technologies, analyzing them and creating ideas and thoughts on how the final product would be like. I also polished up the problem and wrote how us teens deserve the freedom to be 21st century Digital Learner who convert all the creating and innovating into products and solutions that could help the world. I looked at more than one video to do this and realized the vision of us learners of this digital world and how we should be able to create, consume, remix and share material with one another and to think out of the box. I think I deserve a pat on the back for all the hard work I put into this investigation and hope to be graded fairly and what I deserve.

Week 3-Process Journal

Week 3

There was only one week left before the deadline for the investigation and we had to work extra hard to be able to complete it in time. We reviewed the problem again and created another mind map, this I think was what slowed us down thus causing little work to be done. I started putting the pictures/videos and links of each emerging technology but didn't finish much and hoped I could finish in the weekend. The groups had also been assigned which gave us all we need to create our design specification and what should be expected from our product. E-learning was our topic and my group and I started a rough brainstorm on what our product was going to be and how is it going to relate to E-learning. I think I have a lot of work to do in the weekend and hope to finish most of it before our first IT lesson of the week.

Week 2-Process Journal

Week-2

Its a new week and good way to really start investigating. We were asked to state the problem and then find 10 examples of emerging technologies showing a picture/video/animation, a link where we can find more about the technology, a description and why and how we think it can be used in education. We also started using a Web 2.0 application called Diigo where you can bookmark websites and share them with any person or group. You can then just create a user using a GMail, Facebook or any other type of account. With your user you can access your bookmarks from any computer and just share them with your friends. I think I did pretty well in that week since I copied the mind map into a windows journal file and then using a snipping tool posted it to the wiki. Doing that made me more of a 21st century learner and use my tablet to create other ways in education. The bad thing was that I didn't write much on the wiki even though I got my 10 links ready on my Diigo, they are no use when they are not on the wiki!

Week 1-Process Journal

Week 1

In this week we started on our investigation and began by figuring out what the project really was. We did that by looking at classmates' wikis and Mr. Christoudulou's wiki and researching the aspect of emerging technologies. Next, we looked at examples of emerging technologies and found some great examples at the CES 2010(We didn't actually go there but we saw some pictures though!). Examples ranged from E-Readers to Tablets to the unbreakable phone all in one show and one place. We continued investigating in this week just looking but not recording anything. That I think was my mistake and I should have started recording my investigation on my wiki so that my work doesn't go to waste.
